The Firm’s China & Asia Practice comprises lawyers with extensive experience in China or South Asian related matters, both disputes and advisory. The team prides itself on its creativity and its ability to craft commercially viable solutions and representation to its clients.

The team’s collective China and Asia-related experience is in complex cross-border commercial litigation and arbitration, such as international infrastructure and construction disputes, international technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) disputes, international trade and commodities disputes, international aviation disputes, intellectual property disputes, international manufacturing and supply-chain disputes, cross-border joint venture and corporation disputes, international commodities trade disputes, and fintech and cryptocurrency disputes.

Notably, the team has extensive experience in acting for well-known China state-level entities in arbitrations administered by SIAC, CIETAC, and ICC. Domestically, the team also has substantial experience in advancing complex cases in all levels of the Singapore Courts, including the Singapore High Court, the Appellate Division of the High Court, Court of Appeal, and in the Singapore International Commercial Courts (“SICC”).

Moreover, the team offers the full suite of dispute resolution with extensive experience as counsels in international arbitrations and through the team’s head, Mr Ge Huangbin. Mr Ge Huangbin has himself been appointed as an arbitrator in numerous SIAC, CIETAC, CMAC, SHIAC, SCIA and GZAC arbitrations, as well as a mediator in SMC and a neutral in APEC ODR Service. He is well versed in arbitration procedure and disputes.

Given the international work handled by the team, the team is well appraised of any cross-border legal issues, including that of conflicts of laws, jurisdictional challenges, and challenges relating to the selection of an arbitrator. The team has also acted in disputes governed by a variety of legal traditions, including disputes governed by Singapore laws, China laws, India laws, Brunei laws, Thai laws, and others.
