DONG Huiying is an Associate with the Firm. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Singapore in 2024 and specializes in cross-border disputes, with a particular focus on China-related and banking matters.

Huiying was born and raised in China before moving to Singapore. She is effectively bilingual in English and Chinese and has a unique perspective on the cultural nuances of both countries. Her language abilities and cultural proficiency allow her to be especially adept at handling complex commercial matters involving a Chinese angle.

As an example of her abilities, Huiying was heavily involved as second chair in an arbitration at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre involving a contract between a multinational company and a Singapore-incorporated company with links to China. Huiying was also heavily involved in a complex shareholding dispute involving Chinese parties heavily litigated in the High Court.

Huiying graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Singapore Management University’s Yong Pung How School of Law in 2023. She trained under senior lawyers at an international firm and was heavily exposed to complex commercial matters, including a large-scale dispute involving bondholders of Additional Tier 1 bonds issued by a major global bank and a High Court case concerning an alleged breach of director’s duties.

Before entering the legal field, Huiying was one of the top bankers with a leading financial institution. She has extensive experience managing high-value portfolios and handling complex financial products. As a result, she is extremely proficient in understanding banking products and has advised a high-net-worth client in a dispute against a major local bank.

In her free time, Huiying enjoys hiking and spending time with her dog.
