Qin Lei holds a Bachelor of Laws (2nd Upper Hons) from the National University of Singapore, Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Social Sciences (Magna Cum Laude) from the Singapore Management University. She qualified as an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore in 2016.

Before joining LVM Law Chambers, Qin Lei trained at the corporate department of a leading shipping litigation firm in Singapore, where she assisted in ship sale and refinancing transactions and general litigation matters. She started her career as a corporate associate at an international law firm, where she advised various multinational corporations on employment, data protection and contractual issues. She also acted as transactional counsel for private equity investments amounting up to USD 53.5 million.

Qin Lei’s legal practice encompasses both contentious and non-contentious work. She has assisted in complex disputes heard at various levels of the Singapore courts, involving matters relating to contract, company, shareholders’ disputes, equity and trust law. Her business background and experience in corporate advisory work have been invaluable in identifying and meeting her clients’ needs efficiently.

  • Represented a major Chinese telecommunications company in an ICC arbitration arising out of a distributorship agreement
  • Acted for an individual in relation to a claim against the Singapore representatives of an investment firm for fraudulent and negligent misrepresentations
  • Assisted counsels in the representation of six banks in a creditors’ winding up of a local commodities importer and bankruptcy proceedings against the insolvent company’s directors
