Evans served as a Justices’ Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of Singapore after he graduated from the National University of Singapore with First Class Honours in 2010. He became a practitioner in 2012, with a focus on resolving complex commercial disputes. He has represented clients before all Singapore court levels and international arbitrations filed under the ICC, LCIA and SIAC Rules.

Case Highlights

  • Acted for a European business software developer in a SIAC arbitration against a South Asian computing firm in respect of a joint venture.
  • Acted for an online game developer in an ICC arbitration against its publisher for wrongful termination.
  • Acted for a shipyard in a LCIA arbitration in relationship to shipbuilding contracts for specialist vessels.
  • Acted for an investment fund to set aside an adverse arbitral award: AKN v ALC [2015] 3 SLR 488.
  • Acted for an American bank to set aside a statutory moratorium obtained by its debtor: Pacific Andes Resources Development Ltd and other matters [2016] SGHC 210.
  • Appointed amicus curiae in a Magistrate’s Appeal dealing with criminal breaches of trust in relation to a charity’s funds:Public Prosecutor v Lam Leng Hung [2017] 4 SLR 474.
